14thJuiced: Wild Times, Rampant ’Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big, by former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco, is published. In the book, Canseco says he injected Mark McGwire, and introduced Ivan Rodriguez, Juan Gonzalez, Rafael Palmeiro, and Jason Giambi to steroids. All those named deny the accusations. In an A&E documentary released in 2008, Canseco will admit, “The more I think about it, the more I regret mentioning those players in my book. I admired them. I respected them.”
