Feldman made 15 starts for Chicago and will make another 15 for Baltimore with almost identical results, then sign with the Astros. The Orioles give up on Arrieta: With a 5.46 ERA in a Baltimore uniform, he was the worst starting pitcher since the franchise began in Baltimore in 1954 (minimum 60 starts). In another move, Chicago trades fallen closer Carlos Marmol to the Dodgers in exchange for veteran reliever Matt Guerrier.
2ndReds pitcher Homer Bailey hurls the first no-hitter of the season, setting down the Giants, 3-0. Bailey also threw the last no-hitter of the 2012 season, thereby becoming the sixth pitcher in history to account for consecutive no-nos—meaning no pitcher threw one between his two. Nolan Ryan (twice), Addie Joss, Johnny Vander Meer, Allie Reynolds and Warren Spahn also turned the trick.
At Arlington, Raul Ibanez and Kendrys Morales hit back-to-back homers in the 1stto jump start the Mariners to a 9-2 win over the Rangers. Morales drives in 6 runs.

The Cubs sign Baseball America’snumber two international prospect Venezuelan SS Gleyber Torres. On August 2 they will ink Dominican OF Eloy Jimenez to a $2.8 million signing bonus contract. He is rated the top international prospect. Both players are 16.
The Class A Lansing Lugnuts get a walkoff hit but still lose their game. When Chris Hawkins hits a 2-out single to drive in the winning run in the 9th, the runner chooses to join the team celebration rather than run to 2B. A toss to the bag turns the hit into a forceout. Poetic justice as the Lugnuts lose in the 10th(noted by Jayson Stark).
3rdThe Yankees edge the Twins, 3-2, as CC Sabathia records the 200thwin of his ML career. Mariano Rivera records a save and before the game receives a gift from the Twins: a rocking chair made from all the broken bats his cutter sawed off. Rivera is delighted with the gift.
4thWilson Ramos has a 3-run homer and 5 RBIs as the Nationals beat the visiting Brewers, 8-5. Jean Segura almost registers his third stolen base in the 9thwhen he and Aoki advance a base on the same play. It is ruled defensive indifference.
5thAt AT&T Park, Juan Uribe has a double, triple and homer and 7 RBIs to lead the Dodgers to a 10-2 win over the Giants. The Dodgers lose Matt Kemp when the star injures his shoulder. He will be out till July 21, and when he returns with a 3-hit game, he’ll injure his ankle.
6thAlfonso Soriano hits two-run homers in consecutive innings and the Cubs beat the visiting Pirates, 4-1.

10thThe Red Sox defeat the Mariners, 11-4. David Ortiz hits a double in his first AB to pass Edgar Martinez for the most career hits for a designated hitter.
11thThe Giants win their third in the last 17 games, beating the Padres, 4-2. Madison Baumgarner has all three of the wins during the period. The Padres are 7.5 games in back of the leading D’Backs; the Gisnts still 6.5 out.

At Comerica, Max Scherzer allows 4 runs in 6 innings against Texas and that is all that Derek Holland (8-4) needs as the Rangers beat Detroit, 7-1. For Scherzer, it is his first loss after 13 straight wins.

At Anaheim, Bartolo Colon fires his third shutout of the season as Oakland beats the Angels, 6-0. In his previous ten seasons Colon has totaled 2 shutouts. His three whitewashes will lead AL pitchers.

22ndThe Rangers obtain veteran Matt Garza from the Cubs in exchange for pitchers Justin Grimm and C.J. Edwards, IF Mike Olt, and a player to be named. Olt was the Rangers top prospect before suffering a concussion in winter ball last year and Edwards has dominated single A this season.
In a startling move, Brewers’ slugger, and former NL MVP, Ryan Braun is suspended for the remaining 65 games of the 2013 season for his ties to performance-enhancing drugs. Not disputing it, Braun says, “As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect. I realize now I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions.” Near the end of his suspension, Braun will telephone season ticket holders, partial season ticket holders and single seat buyers to offer his apologies.
Joe Blanton (2-13) coughs up 4 runs in 3+ innings as his Angels lose, 4-3, to the visiting Twins. Clete Thomas belts a leadoff homer in the 4thoff Blanton, the 10thstraight game in which Blanton has served up a homer. The Orioles bolster their bullpen by acquiring Francisco Rodriguez from Milwaukee for minor leaguer Nick Delmonico. Rodriguez has a 1.09 ERA in 25 appearances.
24thNate Schierholtz lines a two-out double into the left-field corner in the top of the 12th inning to drive in the go-ahead run and the Chicago Cubs hold on to defeat the host Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-6. For Schierholtz, it is his 5thRBI of the game. Hector Rondon (2-0) pitches the 11th and 12th innings for the win. The Diamondbacks strand 16 runners and fall 1 1/2 games out of first place in the NL West behind the Dodgers. Junior Lake doubles in the 1st inning and adds an RBI double in the 5th, raising his hit total to 14 in his first six games in the majors: the previous Cubs rookie mark was 13 hits in first 6 games, set by Andy Pafko in 1943.
At Minute Maid Park, catcher John Jaso has a double and homer for the A’s as they beat the Astros, 4-3. But Jaso leaves in the 8thinning when a foul tip hits his mask causing a concussion. He won’t play the rest of the season.
25thAngel Pagan’s lines a walk-off inside-the-park homer in the bottom of the 10th to give the Giants a 6-5 win over the Rockies. Colorado had scored in the top of the frame. This is the third inside the park walk off extra inning homer for the franchise, the last coming in August 1923 by Ross Youngs.
