Luke Hochevar gets the win for KC. Rookie Christian Colon drives in the winning run as a pinchhitter in his first appearance in the postseason. Salvador Perez is named MVP of the Series. Curtis Granderson hits his third HR for the Mets.

3rdThe Nationals name Dusty Baker as their new manager.

5thMatt Harvey is announced as the NL’s Comeback Player of the Year for 2015.

In a six-player swap the Mariners acquire pitchers Nathan Karns and CJ Riefenhauser, and minor-league OF Boog Powell from the Rays in exchange for 1B Logan Morrison, UT Brad Miller, and P Danny Farquhar.

9th Whoops. Turner Publishing recalls the 2016 MLB calendar for the Washington Nationals because the stadium pictured on the cover is Fenway Park.

10th   Former Braves pitcher Tommy Hanson, 29, dies in Atlanta. Once a promising young talent—he was third in the 2009 Rookie of the Year voting, Hanson had been plagued with shoulder injuries. One report said that he dies of a drub overdose.

The 2015 Gold Glove Award winners are announced. The World Champion KC Royals—Salvador Perez, Eric Hosmer and Alcides Escobar are among those honored.

11th   The Yankees obtain OF Aaron Hicks from the Twins in exchange for C John Ryan Murphy. They also get P Ronald Herrera from the Padres for IF Jose Pirela.

12th   The Angels new GM Billy Appler makes his first deal, acquiring Braves defensive whiz SS Andrelton Simmons and C Jose Briceno in exchange for veteran SS Erick Aybar, and pitchers Sean Newcomb, a first-round pick in 2014, and Chris Ellis.

The Mariners obtain P Joaquin Benoit from the Padres for minor leaguers Enel De Los Santos (P) and Nelson Ward (IF).

The 2015 Silver Slugger Awards are announced. Brian McCann of the Yankees and Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers each wins for the 6th time. Andrew McCutcheon of the Pirates wins his 4th consecutive award to lead the NL class.

The Red Sox obtain All-star reliever Craig Kimbrel from the Padres in exchange for 4 minor leaguers: OF Manuel Margot (MLB.com’s 25th best prospect), SS Javier Guerra (#76 prospect), IF Carlos Asuaje and P Logan Allen. Kimbrel has three years of service time left.

14th   The Phillies acquire P Jeremy Hellickson from the Diamondbacks for minor league P Sam McWilliams.

16th   Kris Bryant of the Cubs and Carlos Correa of the Astros are named winners of the NL and AL Rookie of the Year awards for 2015.

The Mariners acquire OF Leonys Martin and P Anthony  Bass from the Rangers in exchange for LP Tom Wilhelmsen, OF James Jones and a player to be named.

17th   Jeff Banister of the Rangers and Joe Maddon of the Cubs are named winners of the AL and NL Manager of the Year awards for 2015.

The Angels sign free agent SS Cliff Pennington to a 2-year contract.

18th   Dallas Keuchel of the Astros and Jake Arrieta of the Cubs are named winners of the AL and NL Cy Young awards for 2015. With Bryant winning rookie of the year and Joe Maddon getting manager of the year, the Cubs have three of the top award winners.

The Tigers acquire closer Francisco Rodriguez from the Brewers in exchange for IF Javier Betancourt and a player to be named.

19th   Bryce Harper of the Nationals is the unanimous winner of the NL MVP award for 2-15. Josh Donaldson of the Blue Jays is named winner in the AL.

20th   The Mariners trade OF Ramon Flores to the Brewers for IF Luis Sardines.

The Tigers acquire OF Cameron Maybin from the Braves in exchange for pitchers Ian Krol and Gabe Speier.

In an exchange of pitchers, the Blue Jays get Jesse Chavez from the Athletics for Liam Hendriks.

23rd   The Mariners sign free agent C Chris Iannetta to a 1-year contract.

The Dodgers name Dave Roberts as their new manager.

24th   The Angels sign free agent C Geovany Soto to a 1-year contract.

The Rockies send P Tommy Kahnle to the White Sox in exchange for minor leaguer Yency Almonte.

25th   The Athletics obtain veteran SS Jed Lowrie from the Astros for minor league P Brendan McCurry.

The Braves sign free agent P Bud Norris to a 1-year contract.

The White Sox sign free agent C Alex Avila to a 1-year contract.

The Rays send P Kirby Yates to the Indians for cash.

The Diamondbacks send P Allen Webster to the Pirates for cash.

27th   The Blue Jays sign free agent P J.A. Happ to a 3-year deal.

30th   Jordan Zimmermann reaches agreement with the Detroit Tigers for a 5-year $110M contract. The pitcher had turned down an offer last year from the Nationals to extend his contract for 5 years at $105M.

The Cardinals sign free agent C Brayan Pena to a 2-year contract.

The Braves sign free agent P Jim Johnson to a 1-year deal.
